Information Security Lead
We are looking to hire a motivated Information Security Lead for our client in the Southington, CT area. The ideal candidate would need a Bachelor's degree in a related field required. · 8+ years of professional Information/Cyber Security Awareness Experience. Resilience and flexibility to explore different paths to achieve an outcome and adjust quickly and efficiently to new circumstances and measured results. In collaboration with other members of the information security department, this position will manage a broad set of activities, including drafting publications, creating and managing website content, facilitating marketing campaigns, scheduling meetings, creating timelines and infographics; and helping to plan outreach, awareness, and educational events.
The Day-to-Day:
- Evaluating the effectiveness of techniques and resources as appropriate.
- Working with Leaders and Business Information Security Officer's (BISO) in other areas of the company and need to demonstrate extensive knowledge of information security best practices as well as a specialized understanding of the assigned BISO environment
- Help establish the information security strategy and hold the BISO accountable for ensuring implementation of that strategy.
- Works with BISO to develop and sustain an information security aware culture and mindset among employees, contractors and service providers. Assist in addressing issues as they arise.
- Identify the top human risks to our organization and the behaviors we need to change to mitigate those risks.
- Develop and maintain a security awareness program that effectively changes these behaviors, so our employees act in a secure manner, reducing the most risk to our organization.
- Serve as an internal consultant and advisor in own area of expertise (e.g., technical, copyright, print media, teaching and learning, etc.)
- Promote awareness of information security policies through the creation and maintenance of an online presence that is intuitive to use, provides engaging activities to reinforce behaviors, and serves as a central repository for security guidance and references.
- Work with external vendors as needed to establish quotes, production schedules, delivery, and implementation of materials.
- Accommodate multiple learning styles into course design. Facilitate successful social learning experiences in classroom settings (virtual and in-person). Define achievable, observable, and measurable learning objectives (skills) into training programs.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization, including both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Applies a basic knowledge of information security and risk mitigation principles, theories, and techniques in daily work.
- Demonstrates understanding and use of basic project management methodologies, including the ability to plan, manage and maintain a complex, organization wide program over the longer term.
- Desire to learn and integrate new capabilities in digital technology, such as audio, video, social media, online communities, blogs, and other web-based technologies.
- The ability to confidently develops and delivers presentations and can respond to questions.
- Highly organized and able to multi-task and manage concurrent deadlines, ability to effectively contribute to and lead working groups.
- Flexible; able to move strategy forward in a rapidly changing environment with a high degree of independence, integrity, and confidentiality.
Pay Rate/Shifts:
- $50.00 to $53.00 /hr
- Monday to Friday
- 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
