Our client, an international engineering firm specializing in commercial, educational, and industrial facilities. is looking for an organized, innovative, collaborative, and forward-thinking licensed Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Taylor, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience in the semiconductor, display FABs, and related facilities, and will be able to lead process systems for new construction and/or renovation of industrial or commercial structures as requested by the client The Licensed Senior Structural Engineer will coordinate complex projects in the semiconductor industries using creative problem solving within the standard building codes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead professional and detailed process engineering designs and solutions in support of clients' complex environments
  • Provide guidance and direction to staff and users pertaining to all aspects of semiconductor processing, including process development, tool operation, and maintenance, selection of new tools, sustainment of existing processes, and continuous improvements
  • Establish, implement, and expand a selection of new and innovative concepts and approaches to solve complex challenges
  • Develop process flow and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), system layout plans, equipment sizing and selection, and associated specification summaries
  • Perform process equipment, piping design, and develop process system start-up and commissioning documentation
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to execute process design from conceptual design and criteria development into completed working drawings and construction documents
  • Lead engineering support during construction
  • Perform a variety of engineering assignments under the direction of your supervisor, consulting them for unusual or difficult problems and selecting appropriate methods and techniques to apply
  • Define, develop, and deliver structured engineering approaches through continuous process improvement, adherence to best practices, and standardized approaches
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to project engineering staff without the need to assume responsibility for the direction of others
  • Contribute to business development, proposal, and pursuit efforts, as well as the provision of technical consulting services to clients
  • Interface with multiple engineering disciplines, project management, system owners, vendors, and contractors via phone, email, and meetings (both live and virtual)
  • Nurture and promote inter-discipline, inter-department, and inter-office cooperation and collaboration, while driving initiatives to optimize and improve work and staff-sharing processes by participating in multidisciplinary strategy sessions

Education / License:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Professional Registration (PE) required

Experience:

  • 15+ years of related experience in the process engineering field
  • 10 years of semiconductor process engineering and development experience
  • 7 years of operation of semiconductor process equipment and overall cleanroom operation experience
  • 5 years of experience in research facilities processing electronic, photonic, and MEMS devices
  • 2 years of supervisory experience

Skills/Competencies:

  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, other building energy calculation software, and Bluebeam
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Technical publication credits
