Our client an international engineering firm specializing in commercial, educational, and industrial facilities. is looking for an organized, innovative, collaborative, and forward-thinking Senior Architect to join their team in Taylor, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience in the semiconductor, display FABs, and related facilities and can provide, revise, or extend architectural design for new construction and/or renovation of industrial or commercial structures as requested by the client. The Senior Architect works with multiple stakeholders and guides the architectural team during the design/construction process within the standard building codes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and establish project scope, architectural budget, necessary constraints, and design approach with the project manager and/or client
  • Coordinate, guide, and oversee the team to achieve the correct technical solutions to complex design and client problems
  • Proper communication skills to be involved in design team/owner meetings and communicate directly with the owner and/or owner's representative
  • Develop feasibility studies and project cost estimates
  • Maintain working knowledge of the latest building codes and standards in the industry
  • Collaborate with design and technical teams while supporting or leading the development of design deliverables from studies to Construction Documents, including drawings and specifications
  • Create architectural documents using computer-aided design (CAD) technology utilizing Autodesk (Revit and AutoCAD) software
  • Edit or draft project specifications
  • Review drawings for omissions, errors, interferences, overall quality, content accuracy, and compliance with standards and codes
  • Review product submittals for design content, and specify action to be taken to reach specification compliance
  • Maintain organized project files containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.
  • Prepare project file updates, transmittals, letters, reports, and requests for reproduction services
  • Assist with checking, standards review, and maintenance of master specifications
  • Perform production and quality monitoring of construction documents per company standards individually and or for less experienced staff
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Education / License:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, architectural engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Professional Registration (AIA, NCARB) preferred
  • LEED certification would be a plus

Experience:

  • 7+ years of related experience in architectural design and/or engineering field
  • Experience with semiconductor and microelectronics facilities preferred

Skills/Competencies:

  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction practices and methodologies
  • Experience with leading and implementing construction administration services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated understanding of code implementation and jurisdiction review
  • Strong attention to detail
